Industrial belt introduction

To be precise, it is an Industrial Belt, also known as a transmission belt. After the 20th century, influenced by the technological progress of machinery manufacturing, electrical machinery, chemical industry and metallurgy industry, it has been continuously improved. Material handling between cities and even cities has become an indispensable part of the mechanization and automation of material handling systems.

basic knowledge
The concept of Industrial Belts

Industrial belts, as the name suggests, are belts used in industrial production machines. There are three types of industrial Transmission Belts, automotive transmission belts and conveyor belts. The first two belong to transmission belts, which can be divided into V-belts, Synchronous Belts (toothed belts, timing belts), flat belts (sheet base belts, dragon belts), agricultural machine belts, high-speed oil-proof belts, round belts (round belts) ), flat belt, water tower belt (wide-angle belt), transmission belt, motorcycle transmission belt, V-belt (V-belt), parallel belt, Multi-Groove Belt, hexagonal belt, active belt, traction belt, automobile belt.

Classification of industrial belts Conveyor belts, also known as (conveyor belts, conveyor belts), are rubber, fiber, metal composite products, or plastic and fabric composite products used in Belt Conveyor belts to carry and transport materials. Conveyor belts are widely used in cement, coking, metallurgy, chemical, steel and other industries where the conveying distance is short and the conveying volume is small.

Synchronous Belt, also known as (transmission belt), is composed of an endless belt with equally spaced teeth on the inner peripheral surface and corresponding matching wheels.
It combines the advantages of belt drive, chain drive and gear drive. When rotating, the power is transmitted through the meshing of the belt teeth and the tooth grooves of the teeth. Synchronous belt drive for transmission has accurate transmission ratio, no slip, can obtain constant speed ratio, stable transmission, can absorb vibration, low noise, wide range of transmission ratio, generally up to 1:10.
The allowable line speed can reach 50M/S, and the transmission power can be several watts to hundreds of kilowatts. High transmission efficiency, generally up to 98%, compact structure, suitable for multi-axis transmission, no lubrication, no pollution, so it can work normally in places where pollution is not allowed and the working environment is relatively harsh.
Product use: Transmission products are widely used in various types of mechanical transmissions in various industries such as textiles, machine tools, tobacco, communication cables, light industry, metallurgy, instrumentation, food, mining, petroleum, and automobiles.

The Base Belt, also known as (flat belt), is a kind of synchronous belt. It is a high-speed transmission belt on a plane. Usually, there is a nylon base belt layer in the middle of the base belt, and the surface is covered with rubber, cowhide, and fiber cloth; it is divided into rubber nylon base belts. And cowhide nylon sheet base strap. The strip thickness is usually in the range of 0.8-6mm. The material structure of the nylon sheet base belt is innovative and unique. Compared with the traditional canvas transmission belt and V-belt, it has the advantages of strong tensile force, flex resistance, high efficiency, low noise, fatigue resistance, good wear resistance, and long service life.
Product use: suitable for occasions with compact transmission mechanism, high line speed and large speed ratio. Such as: cigarettes, cigarette machines, papermaking, printing, textile machinery, HVAC equipment, metal equipment, automatic vending equipment and military industry and other industries.

Round type belt, also known as (round belt), is a kind of belt in belt transmission. Its cross-sectional shape is circular, which is different from flat belt transmission, V Belt transmission and synchronous belt transmission, so it is called round belt.
The circular belt transmission is a friction belt transmission, the transmission belt is tightly sleeved on the two pulleys, so that the belt generates pressure between the contact surfaces of the pulleys, and when the drive wheel rotates, the friction force generated between the contact surfaces of the drive pulley makes the belt move At the same time, the belt drives the driven wheel to rotate by the friction between the contact surface with the driven wheel, thereby transmitting motion and power.
The round belt is used in the round belt transmission. The friction force of the round belt transmission is generated by pressing the belt and the wheel groove. It has good elasticity. It relieves the impact and vibration during operation, the movement is stable, the noise is low, and the belt slips when the load is too large. to protect the mechanism. Round belt transmission is used in low-speed and low-power transmission, such as the transmission of sewing machines and other small power or manual machinery as transmission.

How to install and maintain
How to install industrial belts and maintain transmissions?
Whether it is to replace the belt or install the belt on a new transmission, it is recommended to follow the steps below:

Step 1: Turn off the power, remove the protective cover, and loosen the mounting bolts on the motor base so that the motor can move forward and backward.
Step 2: Move the motor so that the belt is slack enough that the belt can be easily removed. Never use tools to pry the belt.
Step 3: Remove the old belt and check for abnormal wear. Excessive wear may indicate a problem with the design or maintenance of the transmission.
Step 4: Choose the Right Belt Replacement
Step 5: Clean the belt and pulley: dip a rag with a little non-volatile liquid to wipe it, do not soak it in detergent or scrub the belt with detergent, do not rub the belt with sandpaper or touch the belt with sharp objects. Belts must be kept dry before installation and use.
Step 6: Check the belt for cracks or wear. The easiest way is to use a wheel groove measuring tool to check. If the wear is excessive, the pulley must be replaced.
Step 7: Check whether the pulleys are on the same plane.
Step 8: Check the remaining transmission parts, such as the symmetry, durability and lubrication of bearings and bushings.
Step 9: For transmissions using multiple belts, all belts must be replaced at once. If only one belt is replaced on a multi-belt drive, the new belt may be tight enough, but the remaining old belt will be too loose and most of the power may be carried by this new belt alone, causing premature failure of the new belt .
Step 10: Tighten the center distance of the transmission device, turn the drive wheel a few times by hand, and check whether the tension is appropriate with a belt tension gauge.
Step 11: Tighten the assembly bolts of the motor according to the specified torque.
Step 12: Replace the protective cover.
Step 13: It is recommended to adopt a trial run procedure. The procedure is to start the transmission, run it at full load and stop, check and adjust the tension to the recommended value. Running the belt under full load allows the belt to fit perfectly into the grooves. If it is possible to run the belt for 24 hours, it should be run for at least one hour. The commissioning procedure reduces the number of times the tension needs to be re-adjusted later.
Step 14: During the test run, the operation should be closely monitored to check for abnormal vibration and listen carefully for abnormal noise. It is best to turn off the machine after running for a period of time and check the heating condition of the bearings and motor; if it feels too hot to the touch, it may be that the belt is too tight, or the bearings are not symmetrical, or the lubrication is not correct.
Step 15: For synchronous belts, there is very little slack during operation, so it is generally not necessary to readjust the tension, but we still recommend starting the device and observing the performance, checking for abnormal vibrations, and listening for abnormal noises. It is best to turn off the machine after running for a period of time and check the heating condition of the bearings and motor; if it feels too hot to the touch, it may be that the belt is too tight, or the bearings are not symmetrical, or the lubrication is not correct.
Common six reasons
Causes of common problems in transmission:
Envirnmental factor.
Improper belt and pulley installation.
Bad transmission design
Improperly maintained transmission.
Transmission parts are defective.
Improper storage or storage of belts
Precautions for storage: Precautions for storage of industrial belts: 1. Store industrial belts in a dry and dark place. The ideal storage temperature is 10°C to 40°C. Storage places below 5°C and above 45°C should be avoided. 2. When stored in the open air, it needs to be covered with a rainproof cloth or similar covering. And raise the ground to prevent affecting industrial belts (especially cotton fabric core conveyor belts). 3. Industrial belts should not be exposed to direct sunlight, and should be protected from ultraviolet and X-ray radiation during storage. Do not engage in electric welding operations and various radioactive activities in the storage place. 4. It cannot be stored or used in places where oil, gasoline, paint, acid and chemicals are used. 5. Do not touch or get close to ozone and various strong oxidizing objects. 6. When storing, it is best to put a backing plate on it and plug it with a safety plug to prevent accidental rolling. Cannot be placed vertically to prevent skewing. 7. If it is stored for a long time, it should be turned over regularly to prevent the internal pressure from continuously acting on the same place.
